About Silvia

Silvia King is an enthusiastic empowerer of people through her work as a Positive Psychology Coach and Lecturer in Coaching Psychology at University of East London. She is a PhD candidate with Heriot Watt University, exploring Coaching Psychology in a Middle East context. Silvia holds an MA/lic.oec.publ. from the University of Zurich and an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology (MAPPCP) from the University of East London. She is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS) and an EMCC-accredited Senior Practitioner coach and Supervisor (ESIA) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
As a coach, trainer and consultant, she has over 20 years’ experience in cross-cultural corporate contexts, coaching at every level of seniority, and developing and delivering leadership trainings and wellbeing workshops and programmes. As a lifelong learner, Silvia holds various certifications including as facilitator for Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence, EFT Master Practitioner, Laughter Yoga Teacher, MTa® Experiential Learning facilitator and more.
Silvia is passionate about developing the coaching profession and its next generation of practitioners. Silvia is a lecturer and module leader for coaching psychology and positive psychology coaching at University of East London/UK, guest lecturer for international leadership programmes and previously was adjunct faculty for coaching psychology with Heriot-Watt University in Dubai. In addition, Silvia works as a supervisor in private practice, offering group and 1-2-1 supervision for coaches, mentors, leaders and facilitators/trainers.
Silvia believes in evidence-based practice. She contributes to the body of research via her PhD and other research in the field. Her publications include peer-reviewed academic journal articles and book chapters. As member and former co-lead of EMCC Global’s Centre for Excellence in Research, Silvia works with volunteers to strengthen the coaching, mentoring and supervision professions through research. She is a frequent speaker, facilitator and presenter at international industry and academic conferences. Silvia is fluent in English and German.
